How are sweating and rehydration related?

When you sweat, your body loses both water and important electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and chloride. Rehydration is the process of replacing these lost fluids and minerals to restore normal body function. Electrolyte beverages like Royal‑D are specifically formulated to replenish these losses more effectively than plain water alone.

What is Heat Stroke?

Heat stroke is a severe form of heat illness that occurs when the body’s temperature rises rapidly and the sweating mechanism fails. Body temperature can rise to 40°C  (104°F) or higher within minutes. It is a medical emergency that requires immediate treatment. Staying hydrated with electrolyte-rich drinks helps prevent heat stroke during hot weather or intense physical activity.

Is drinking water enough to rehydrate?

While water is essential, it may not be sufficient after significant sweating or physical exertion. Sweat also removes electrolytes, and drinking water alone without  replacing these minerals can lead to a condition called hyponatremia (low sodium). Electrolyte drinks help restore the proper mineral balance your body needs for optimal function.

How many types of “Royal‑D” are produced?

Royal‑D is currently available in several variants: the classic single-dose electrolyte powder packets (original since 1990), the Royal‑D Mixed Fruit-flavored Electrolyte Beverage (launched 2016), and the Royal‑D Grape-flavored Electrolyte Beverage (launched 2023). Each variant is designed to cater to different taste preferences while delivering the same trusted hydration formula.

Do you need to rehydrate every time you sweat?

For light sweating in everyday situations, drinking water is usually sufficient. However, if you’re exercising intensely, working outdoors in the heat, or sweating heavily for more than an hour, replenishing with an electrolyte drink is recommended. Listen to your body — signs like dizziness, muscle cramps, or unusual fatigue may indicate you need to rehydrate more actively.
